West Country Vending Service Ltd realises that a firm commitment to environmental matters is of great importance to a well run and efficient business. accordingly we believe that we have a responsibility to work with our customers and suppliers in minimising the environmental effect of our work and strive for continual improvement in all environmental aspects.
Therefore the Company will:
- ensure that all its operations are conducted within the law, environmental regulations and Codes of Practice
- attempt to restrict or control the release of emissions or pollutants which may cause damage to the environment
- act in a responsible manner to its customers and society by taking a proactive approach to environmental matters
- ensure that waste materials from its operations are stored, transported and disposed of in accordance with the laws governing waste and will take all reasonable steps to reduce waste in its operations
- communicate to and educate all its employees and contractors so that they are fully aware of and responsible for all processes and materials in their charge
- offer employees and visitors a safe, hygienic and as far as possible, attractive environment and improve the visual appearance of their operations by landscaping and proper maintenance of buildings
- keep packaging to a minimum consistent with protecting the safety and quality of products and use recyclable and recycled materials where possible
- use whenever possible only suppliers and subcontractors who have been assessed and approved for their environmental policies
- ensure that all new projects will be subject to environmental assessment to ensure that no retrograde actions are implemented
- establish and maintain an Environmental Management System and will carry out environmental audits on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance and provide focus for improvement
- set objectives and targets and performance against these targets will be monitored and reviewed
